Any coops here got experience building video / audio projects (e.g. leveraging Zoom)

Hi all - we have a client who’s interested in building a platform for interpreters that streams video from events into a web app. And also handles interpreters providing audio interpretation.

Has anyone worked on a video streaming or audio project?

I’m also thinking about how the client might leverage existing services like Zoom and their SDK.

Thaaaanks!
Richard

Hey! I’ve worked on a project that involved video streaming. I was responsible for a mobile client.
We started with an ambitious idea to build our own media server but then switched to using Agora SDK. I can share some experiences.

I understand that every project has its own unique limitations and requirements. In my case, it was in the conventional startup setting, so speed was a priority over costs. We had good-quality streams but faced some difficulties during the integration process. However, with the help of their responsive support team, we were able to resolve everything fairly quickly.

You can probably learn a lot from the story of meet.coop
There are couple topics here about them.

Maybe https://webtv.coop might have useful expertise. If helpful I can put you in touch. They are now providing technical assistance for meet.coop.

Thanks Artemis - I’m not aware of Agora, so that is a good share, thanks!

Hi @Graham Thank you for that. Also, yes please if you could connect us that would be great!

Many thanks!

I used https://livekit.io/ to add video calling to Karrot recently, can recommend! (and you can self-host the server, or use their hosted service). Happy to get away from zoom

Very flexible API/SDK approach… (oh and open source, etc…)
