We are pitching for a website build project which is most likely going to be using WordPress. At the latter stages of the scoping sessions a requirement has surfaced which involves showing different content to different users. These different sets of user segments will be created based on some kind of user profiling on how they have used the website previously.
This will probably not involve a user login, so will most likely be based on cookies (or similar method) being set, and these then being used to customize the content they see in the future.
We’re aware that this functionality doesn’t exist in core WordPress, but has anyone done anything like this before? Either with WordPress though custom development, plugins or third-party integration, or with any other CMS?
Thanks in advance for any advice or information anyone can offer.
