Tech Care Co-op

Helllooo, as many of you know, I’m one of the founder members of Autonomic which I have been working at for the last seven years but I wanted to try some new business models and learn new skills.

Early days, but I’m starting a new worker co-op called Tech Care Co-op that provides compassionate and personalised tech support for folks working for social good.

Do you find yourself getting stuck and frustrated when trying to get stuff done?Sometimes the problems that might be a total nightmare showstopper for you, may take us ten minutes to solve.

We’ll consider any tech (desktop/mobile/server) issues but we have a strong preference for open source.

Our goal is to build up tech resiliency within a small client base that make a big difference in the world.

The price for support for individuals is 1GBP per minute, so that’s 60GBP per hour.

If you’re UK based and are in need, hit us up on Signal:

Hey there, big fan of the work you folks do at Autonomic. I have your homepage bookmarked in my “Cool Coops” folder :watermelon:

Is it a by-law or something that restricts you from working with clients outside of the UK?

No bylaws, it was just an initial hunch. There’s only two of us right now and we’re both on UK timezones. We wanted to keep billing as simple as possible.

Our first client is local and I do stuff for them in person. We wanted to leave that in-person possibility open for others.

All of this is in contrast to Autonomic being this wild punky internationalist project with members across four continents with clients all over the world.
