How can we unite the worlds of hedonism, pleasure and joy with the many social challenges we face today? Or, put another way, how do we mix parties with purpose?
In this fun evening, four speakers from Studio61 will take over Space4 to explore the history of parties that have provoked change as well as the importance of sustaining such spaces. They will also share their philosophy of ‘collisions’ - designing community-centric experiences to cultivate connection and creativity.
This will be an interactive session with plenty of opportunities for attendees to contribute and co-imagine parties of the future alongside the presenters (although there is no pressure to do so and active listening is equally welcome).

Studio61 is a co-operative made of people who are friends, neighbours and colleagues into all sorts of things - art, music, design, climate action, community energy, urban greening, technology, community organising… and more.
Speaker Bios
Nida Sajid teaches about all things culture and design at the University of Arts London. Her research combines academic theory with lived reality by interrogating how power operates within society.
Pavan Kakarla is a tech worker who is passionate about musical advocacy. Also known as SkankingStar, he is committed to promoting Jamaican music in India and is one of the core members of the hand-built Monkey Sound System based in Hyderabad.
Oli Conner has worked at the intersection of culture, insight and design for over a decade. They are currently developing a programme for the National Gallery’s future-facing department NGX.
Eva Goudouneix is passionate about how grassroots and co-operative solutions can achieve climate justice and build a fairer society. Based at the award-winning Repowering London, she is pioneering new ways of blending art and community organising.
