Online survey about cooperatives and digital infrastructure

This arrived in my inbox this morning:

Dear cooperators,

Hello and thank you for your time.

We are Tierra Común, a worker-owned cooperative based in Mexico. We give
services on digital security, infrastructure and web development.

We are writing to request your voluntary participation in a survey that is
part of a research project about cooperatives and digital infrastructure. The
outcome of the research will be a free report published in our social media
channels. The goal of the report is to promote cooperatives among free
software projects as a sustainable model for working.

In this survey there are no bad or good answers and our interest is to know
about your experience and opinions about the topics discussed. If you agree,
we ask that you please circulate the survey among all the workers of your
cooperative so that we have everyone’s responses.

This research is supported by the Open Collective Foundation and no
personally identifiable information will be associated with your
responses to the report of these data.

You can answer the survey here:

If you have any questions or comments please write to
contacto@tierracomun.org

Thank you very much for your collaboration. We hope that this research will
benefit the cooperative tech sector.

Sincerely,

Jorge Benet

I’ve just stumbled on the results of this project:

https://infraestructura.digital/index-en.html

The report is worth a read, the 3 UK co-ops that participated are not named but I’d bet on Outlandish being one of them.

I was looking at this recently. What’s curious is that all of these things talking about digital infrastructure appear to focus solely on software. Is the assumption that corporate interests have so totally dominated the digital infrastructure hardware sector that it’s not even worthwhile for the cooperative economy to engage, and that we should just shut up and pay?
