LGBTQIA+ Tech people deciding to leave the USA

From one thread here:

There’s a large number of skilled tech-people planning to leave the USA.

Any idea’s on what could be done from here to help them?

The UK tech sector could match the US tech sector wages?

This article is from almost 6 years ago:

Tech workers in London actually earn 42% less than counterparts in San Francisco (adjusting for cost of living)

I expect that the difference is probably greater now…?

Some of them won’t be leaving because of the money.

Some of them will be leaving while they can sell up safely, rather than leaving with what they can carry, or leaving with what they are wearing.

That’s the range of risk profiles that the infosec professionals are thinking about.

I know some pagans who used to live in the Bible Belt in the 1990’s. They didn’t have the best of experiences, and that was when the economy was good, and the evangelical authoritarians weren’t in power.

I don’t want to think what it will be like soon.

i mean there’s been a slow trans exodus from the uk to usa happening for a really long time im not sure anyone who did that is looking to return! the difference is in the us the transphobes are on the right… here you’re always looking over your shoulder
