CoTech Autumn Gathering: Generating More Work for Members in 2026

Hi CoTech,

CoTech is gathering again and this time we’re meeting in Oxford!

We’ve had a few months of exciting CoTech activity, including a rebrand, appearances at Co-ops Congress, news of new funding, and our spring event in Space4.

We want to keep all the conversations going and build on the momentum we’ve created.

Our goal for the event is to explore ways to generate more work for CoTech members in 2026.

We’ll be running two tracks on the day.

The first will focus on:

  • Strengthening our collective offer: How can we make the CoTech website a hub for selling our services and connecting clients with the right co-op?
  • Outreach & funding: Planning our 2026 engagement strategy and exploring how we’re going to fund it.

The second track will provide an opportunity for members to hold sessions. Please submit your session ideas by Saturday, August 30th here: https://forms.gle/8CqZqA5Q5rDAzmWGA

We’ll also make sure there is plenty of space for networking & collaboration, because at its core, the work we all do at CoTech is fuelled by catching up with friends and colleagues, sharing ideas, and having a nice time at the pub.

When: October 3, 9 AM – 6 PM

Where: Quaker Meeting House, 43 St Giles’, Oxford OX1 3LW

Ticket price range: £50 (solidarity) £40 (general) £30 (reduced rate)

Bought my ticket today.

Some more info about my session: I’m running an event called the Excellence in Technology Awards where everyone who attends the session will be eligible to accept an Excellence in Technology Award on behalf of their coop. The idea being that we can take some pictures of you receiving your award in your chosen category and then the pictures can go online and be used however you want. And there’ll be a list of award winners.

This is the trophy that I’m currently planning on buying: Mirrored Glass Trophy Plaque Award Black & Silver 20.5cm (8")

And good luck to all entrants, you aren’t going to need it.

Hey @KingMob this sounds interesting, I may have missed it on a previous circle meeting but what is the idea of making up awards?
