Chattanooga.Digital introduction

Greetings! I’m part of an initiative in Chattanooga, TN, USA, to establish a tech cooperative to make it easy and economical for anyone in our community to access, control, own, and use their apps and data, enabling them to break away from tech corps, to “build local and connect global.” We (will—we’re in the initial startup phase) do this by deploying, maintaining, and supporting open source software for our members and by cultivating a broader, deeper local tech talent pool. I joined the CoTech forum because we think Co-op Cloud could be means to carry out our mission.

Are there other initiatives like ours, focused on providing open source apps to non-technical “regular” folks? Is this basically the purpose for which Co-op Cloud is intended? I’m looking for guidance on how to use it for this purpose, including key features and functions like IAM and member/user management.

We are committed to contribute to projects for apps/servers we use so I’m also interested in how we might focus and structure that aspect of our coop. Specifically, we will almost surely want help with recipes.

Thanks!
