I have been invited to join my local chapter (in Japan) of BNI -a business referrals group
Perhaps because there is an annual fee, some people allege that this is just a Ponzi scheme.
Does anyone know them or better yet, is anyone a member?

A friend of mine is/was involved. It’s a perfectly legit business business networking thing based on the idea that someone in the group asks for help with something and others in the group signpost them to suitable providers who can help - the principle being one of ‘giver’s gain’ - you help someone out and they’ll return the favour.
