Does anyone know a good place to find guidelines for how a co-op or social justice organisation should engage with AI or make products that use AI?
Or have any suggestions themselves?
A lot of the examples I’ve found online (e.g. by big orgs like UNESCO ) feel quite limited and apolitical.
a bit glib but i think attempting to use it ethically requires a rethink from the ground up that if youre not a tech org is prob deffo not worth the time and money investment
That’s a really good question. I’m planning to run a session about cooperatives and AI next Saturday at the Workers Coop Weekend, and I was hoping to include some discussion around exactly what you mentioned. Will you be there?
I’m looking forward to the online contributions too. We can bring together the points from this conversation and what comes up in the face-to-face session to write up some conclusions afterwards.
From an environmental point of view, you might find this report that I co-authored with @laura useful? The aim is to provide a bit more of a nuanced view.
@Pau I won’t be at the Workers Coop Weekend unfortunately, but hope this conversation will be useful and I look forward to seeing what comes out of your session!
