Actions for environmental justice from autonomous and community tech infrastructures: report and webinar

Forwarding from Mayfirst:

In recent years, one priority frequently defined in our annual membership meeting has been to make our data center operations more environmentally sustainable. We knew it would be a long road, so we set out to work with other groups to find strategies to integrate environmental sustainability into autonomous communication infrastructure projects. We focused especially on small and medium-sized providers that offer tech services to social movements and groups.

May First Movement Technology, together with Sursiendo, is now ready to present the results of that research. We worked with 17 groups from different parts of the world to explore sustainable practices already underway, the main obstacles faced, future projections, and speculative ideas. You can read the full report here.

Save the date! On Thursday, July 17th at 1 pm (Mexico City) / 3 pm (New York) / 7 pm (UTC) we will present the report at a special event. We will be joined by MariaLab (Brazil), Sutty (Argentina), and Cloud68 (Estonia).

Register now to be part of this conversation and learn firsthand about a unique investigation that synthesizes collective experiences from community tech providers: what we are doing, what more we can do, and what alliances we need to forge to collectively advance towards more sustainable practices.
