UK Local Elections

UK local elections are just over a month away. Locals are generally considered less exciting, but we’ve had a lot of election practice recently, and voters are more engaged than ever, so no sense wasting the moment.

1/ If you’re thinking of doing anything to do with the election, have a look at this first: Local Election 2018 Tech Handbook - Google Docs.

2/ If you happen to be in London on the 10th of April, there’s an afternoon + evening of coworking around this stuff, hosted by Democracy Club, Tech For Good and Citizen Beta at Newspeak House: https://attending.io/events/election-tech-meetup

You’d also be welcome to log in for this event featuring Frome’s Flatpack Democracy. It suggests how to “hack” elections in ways that can sidestep party political dominance and establish more locals-driven agendas.
