Location: Ethical Consumer Research Association (ECRA) offices, Hulme, Manchester.

This is an office-based post and remote working is not currently available.

Hours: 24 to 35 hours per week (please state preference)

Salary: ECRA standard rate of £17,654 pa (for 35 hrs or pro rata)

  • The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure that all the technical systems at Ethical Consumer function effectively. This will involve working with our existing providers to provide technical support for the computer networks, websites, research databases, CRM databases and other systems used at Ethical Consumer.

  • In time we expect our technical support worker to be able to understand and plan developments across the systems we use and to co-ordinate development activities between our providers.

  • When the systems are functioning smoothly, our technical support worker may be asked to provide research and writing support for our teams investigating and writing about the ethical behaviour of corporations for our magazine, website and databases. We expect this role to involve specialising in writing on comparative ethics at tech companies (such as Apple, Google, Microsoft etc) and for tech products (phones, computers, search engines etc)
