It’s a Friday night and you want a takeaway. You don’t want to order from Deliveroo or Uber Eats - you know all too well that the gig economy creates unsafe and exploitative conditions for workers - but you don’t want to cook, and it’s all too easy to just click and wait for your food to be delivered.
Enter Wings, your local rider-owned food delivery cooperative. A platform that can provide all the convenience with none of the guilt. Come along to this celebratory evening and join North London’s cooperative community to mark Wings’s relaunch.
As well as hearing about the dangers of the delivery-driven gig economy and the cooperatives who are taking it on, we will share in a community meal (alongside complimentary drinks!) ordered from four handpicked Wings restaurants.
Your £5 deposit will be kept as a contribution to the community meal. Vegetarian and vegan options will be provided.
Speakers
Rich Mason is one of the Co-founders of Wings. A former Deliveroo rider, he is passionate about the potential of co-operative ownership for the creation of good work. Currently working as the Senior Project Officer for the GLA’s London Ownership Hub, he is working to promote coops across London alongside his work with Wings.
