Hey @Avi, Autonomic runs mastodon/hometown instances and is keen to expand / work with others to run more / do more co-operative hosting. We co-run a project called Co-op Cloud which has configurations for setting up new instances:
- coop-cloud/mastodon: Your self-hosted, globally interconnected microblogging community - mastodon - Co-op Cloud Code
- coop-cloud/hometown: A supported fork of Mastodon that provides local posting and a wider range of content types. - hometown - Co-op Cloud Code

We would be interested in co-operating on this, I started writing a Mastodon Ansible role the other day and have set up a development server, but haven’t had much of a chance to play with it yet.
Our plan being to offer it as a free service to our members on mastodon.coop and to start offering Mastodon hosting as a service at some point in the future.

I once set up Mastodon and I think some bits of my issue about problems in the install docs are still relevant, almost 2 years later
