Hi all,

I received an email from the Marx Memorial Library, looking for a website redesign and integration with CiviCRM.

Unfortunately we stopped doing web design due to several factors, so I’m looking to you guys to see if you’d want to take this project on.

I asked them if they didn’t mind me passing on the email and they were fine for me to do so.

Hello

Here at the Marx Memorial Library we are looking to redevelop our existing website www.marx-memorial-library.org.uk, making it easier to update, navigate and use. We would like to do this in the first few months of 2018. Here are some additional details. I wonder whether we might have a brief conversation about this with the aim of getting an idea of cost and timescale.

Aims

Easy to update; to add project pages
Focused – no extraneous info
Usable – easy to navigate
Modern, re-brand? Improved design
Place were can look at events, find out about collections, join, access resources
Audience

Students, trade unionists, researchers, members of public interested in Marxism, history of socialism
Wish-list

Ability to link with Civi CRM or comparable programme to which we can migrate
Functionality to list events and enable registration
Functionality to enable sign up to newsletter
Functionality to enable payment by Paypal by joining the MML/donating to projects
Functionality to enable payment by Paypal in an online shop
Functionality to link through to Soutron catalogue
Ability to embed photo galleries to showcase collections
Ability to embed PDF documents – text searchable - to showcase collections
Ability to embed vimeo films
News feed to keep up to date
Integration with twitter feed
Compatibility with different device interfaces
Ability to easily add new project sites- often for externally funded collection/subject based projects

@felix no problem, I like to help where I can, granted it seems bad to just
turn business away but been burnt too many times on web design. Hosting and
servers and networking and security is where it’s at for us, so if you need
any of that for this project please do keep us in mind.

We would be interested in this at Autonomic. We’re doing some Drupal/CiviCRM work atm.

Should we contact them @Felix or do you already have some plans in place?

Hi. If CiviCRM is in the mix I’m very interested in the potential to collaborate on this one. I’ve been working with CiviCRM/Drupal implementations for over 10 years now.

Did anyone actually email about this? I just did but it seems like Meirian is out of office till 4th Jan.

I was in contact with her last week, and suggested she look at co-tech!
I think they are still working out their specs at this stage.
