Financial update

Hi folks,

A quick finance update on the CoTech fund. We currently have £2873.07 in our Unity Bank Account. We received £3755 in subscriptions last year, up from £2964 in our first year.

Our main committed expense is for the infrastructure that WebArchitechts provide. The domain name, community.coops.tech forum, MediaWiki instance and coops.tech static sites cost us £1687 a year. We also pay for a Loomio subscription (£127.29).

Last year, we also covered some of the costs (£217) of the Newcastle CoTech gathering.

There’s a couple of proposals being made to spend some of the additional funds which is great to see. Hopefully this quick report makes it a bit easier to see what we have available.

Here’s a full Income and Expenditure report for 2019 and 2020.

Thanks for this Chris, this is great!

This looks like we had a great first year then the second year was a deficit. But the infrastructure costs are for previous years, right?

By the way, where are you getting your membership number from? I need to update it for us

Also, it looks like there are coops paying into the fund who aren’t on the website?

Community Broadband Network and Principle 6 are listed here but aren’t on coops.tech?

I think Community Broadband Network are CBN « CoTech « Cooperative Technologists. Principle Six are not listed on the CoTech site - @Sion, I think your contributions were perhaps for Calverts? They’ve appeared in the bank statement as being from PRINCIPLE SIX LLP.

That’s right - it’s all cash basis accounting, so the two invoices from Web Architects (one for 2019 the other for 2020) were both paid in 2020. We’ll be expecting another one for 2021 at some point.

It’s just the amount you paid when we asked for the subscriptions. At some point this year we’ll send out invoices again for contributions and we can correct it at that point.

The 2020 invoice for Webarchitects was sent by @SzczepanOfAnimorph to our Treasurer on 19th June 2020 but appears to have never been actioned, so I have now done the bank transfer myself, very sorry about the lengthy delay :frowning: .

Not a problem @chris - thanks for spotting it!
