I’m booked for the Sustainability Conference this morning, and found out about the Co-op event by accident.
Billy what do they define as ‘cultural’ co-operatives? Does tech fall under that?
From the links in the Bio’s of the speakers, it’s mostly media industries, so Tech Co-op’s would count as New-Media/Social-Media.
Also realised that it’s taking place at the same time as The Social Enterprise Festival, which i also have tickets to…

Who was it that said the Social Enterprises are just Co-operatives without the democracy…?
It’s also worth remembering that the Media industries, while relatively open, still have some of the strongest unions in the UK.
5 years ago, I was a speaker for this event. Someone called @Ieva_BlakeHouse came up to me afterwards, and asked to talk about her idea for starting a worker coop. Tonight she’s the panellist, and I’m a punter. The excellent Marisa Sandoval put this on - she also commissioned Blake House to produce this short video about another CoTech member
