Campaign Lab are running a data dive in London on February 23rd ahead of the upcoming local elections. How can a community of politically-minded data scientists and researchers impact upon and improve electoral campaigning and analysis? Let’s find out!
At our last HackDay in December our volunteers mapped DC election IDs to GSS codes for all ward level election results across the UK and found that there is currently no relationship between local election results and council tax rises - valuable insights for local election campaigners nationwide!

We’re also working on and experimenting with our governance structures, aiming to be fully run and directed by the community of volunteers and participants in the longer term. Later in each of our monthly event we hold a ‘Democracy Hour’, exploring these kinds of questions. If you’d like to be involved in those discussions, one of which is “Should we incorporate as a coop?” come along and help!
